What most webhosts will never tell you about their service - esp. Nigerian webhosts is that they are resellers. Most Nigerian webhost resell webhosting packages from Mother webhosting companies based in the US and Canada. Though this is not a bad idea and seems to be a closely guarded secret for some. It helps, for the client to know the little details about how and where his/ her site is located. By the way there is nothing wrong with hosting your site on a reseller webhost.
Some webhosting companies in Nigeria also promise the benefit of a 24hour customer support but hardly are able to give even 6hrs of that customers support. And you should also Know that cheap most times doesn't guarantee quality. You may have to dole out a little more cash than expected if you intend to get a webhosting that provides you with superior technical support and customers service. and on reliable servers too. I have met guys who call themselves hosting companies and all the experience they had was a book on how to set up web hosting which they either downloaded for free online or borrowed from someone.
